If you try to install the Trigger bar with the SRT already installed, you need to relax the Sear spring, and move the Sear forward a little so the Trigger bar can be placed back in the frame. Now, removing the trigger bar of course takes longer and the Trigger bar should be installed before the SRT Sear and Safety lever.
Do not touch the 1/16" top that is on the left side of the extreme rear of the Trigger bar. I also remove any sharp corners from the top rear of the Trigger bar, being very careful to not touch the Double Action hook that is in this same area. If the rounded bottom of the SRT Safety lever is not slick, there can be problems with the Trigger bar not resetting after each round is fired. That long arm on the SRT Safety lever has to be round and burr free so it can slide off the top of the Trigger bar during operation. The extra time is used removing any burrs from the bottom of the new SRT Safety lever. Push the left end of the sear spring back under the sear spring pin using a "V" shpped tool. Remove the stock sear and safety lever and replace them with the SRT Sear and Safety lever and use old Sear Spring. You can let the punch act as a temporary Sear pin. Relax the Sear spring and push the Sear pin over using a 3/32 punch. Just remove the slide and decock the hammer. There is an easy way to install the Sear and Safety lever that make up the SRT kit, especially in a P226.
